Tra Pham



Dr. Tra Pham is the Assistant Dean for Graduate and International Affairs at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. In her role, Dr. Pham oversees the school’s LLM program, MSL program for non-lawyers, and the three-week summer program on Foundations of U.S. Law and Practice designed for practicing attorneys, judges, business law professionals, and those preparing to join any LL.M. program in a U.S. law school to gain major concepts in U.S. law and American legal training. She also oversees the school’s partnerships with 28 foreign universities and institutions, and the study abroad (exchange and international dual degree) programs. Dr. Pham serves as the academic advisor for LLM and MSL students, and the bar exam advisor for international LL.M. students.

Dr. Pham brings to Ohio State Moritz College of Law expertise in international law and over a decade of experience in international legal education. She earned a law degree from Hanoi Law University, and LL.M. degrees from Leuven University (Belgium), Heidelberg University (Germany), and American University Washington College of Law. She also holds a Doctor of Laws degree from her alma mater, Leuven University, where she focused her 4-year research on international investment law and arbitration . She is licensed to practice law in Vietnam and the New York State.

Prior to her career in international legal education, Dr. Pham practiced intellectual property law in Vietnam. She is an international lawyer with expertise in international dispute resolution, international economic law, intellectual property law, and international human rights and refugee law. She has published and provided consulting on various matters related to international investment and international business law.
